International Symposium entitled "Armenia at the Crossroads" was held at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Bucharest

On 24 April, a one-day International Symposium entitled "Armenia at the Crossroads" was held at the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Bucharest. The event started with a dialogue with Tigran Galstyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Romania.

Alexandra Iancu, the dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Bucharest, the vice-dean Oana Valentina Suciu, Cătălin Avramescu, the director of the Institute of Political Studies and International Relations of the Romanian Academy, Dr. Vlad Bedros from The National Institute of Art History of the Romanian Academy, Dragoş Mateescu, researcher and director of the Romanian Diplomatic Institute, journalist Avedis Hadjian, experts from the Republic of Armenia, Romania and the Republic of Moldova were the key speakers of the symposium.

During the panel discussions the topics related to the challenges and the specifics of the Armenian identity in Armenia and Diaspora, the spiritual and cultural presence of the Armenians in Romania, Armenia's modern foreign policy strategy, the relations with other regional states, the exisiting challenges of the South Caucasus and the ways to address them were touched upon.

The symposium were attended by the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Romania, the academic circle of Romania and the university students.

On the eve of the event, the organizers and participants of the symposium visited the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Romania to greet the experts invited from Armenia to give lectures at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Bucharest, as well as the Romanian students, who recently returned from a study trip to Armenia.
