Ambassador Tigran Galstyan had a meeting with Patriarch Daniel of Romanian Orthodox Church

On 14 February, Tigran Galstyan, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Romania had a meeting with His Beatitude Daniel, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

At the meeting, Patriarch Daniel addressed his congratulatory words and blessings to the ambassador of the Republic of Armenia on the occasion of the start of the diplomatic mission in Romania.

In the course of a warm and comprehensive conversation, a reference was made to the strong civilizational ties of the two peoples, which are at the basis of the Armenian-Romanian friendly relations. The traditional great role of Romanian-Armenians, particularly intellectuals, figures in the field of culture and science, in the public life of Romania was emphasized. The spiritual leader of the Romanian Orthodox Church indicated the organization of pilgrimages in Armenia and Romania as a practical way to raise the mutual awareness of the two peoples.

Touching upon the importance of preserving the Christian heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh, ambassador Galstyan emphasized the role of the international community, including the international church community at this context.

Patriarch Daniel indicating the historical experience of both peoples and the importance of the Christian faith in the preservation of identity, in his turn, stressed the need to preserve the Christian heritage monuments and promote the spiritual values in the current tough geopolitical times.
